Fluff Contest



Do you think you have writing talent? Do you think you have the skills to bring a design to life, give it a unique and interesting history, make it leap off the page and into the reader's imagination? Well, here's your chance to prove it. You have until December 11th, 2002 to make the following designs live through the backstory you give them. And you'll win more than just your peers' respect - we've got some nice little prizes lined up for you too.

Prizes:
1st Prize:
The first place winner gets a trio of novels by some of the heavies in the BattleTech universe:
Patriots and Tyrants, by Loren Coleman
Operation Audacity, by Blaine Lee Pardoe
MechWarrior Dark Age #1: Ghost War, by Michael Stackpole
In addition, they will be receiving a limited edition UberUrbie miniature, straight from the PUB.

2nd Prize:
The second place winner will get two novels:
Malicious Intent, Michael Stackpole
Dagger Point, by Thomas Gressman

3rd Prize:
The third place winner will receive the novel Endgame, by Loren Coleman, the final novel set in the Classic BattleTech universe.


Rules -

1. There are 4 designs provided - 2 'Mechs, a vehicle, and an aerospace fighter. Entries must contain fluff for all four or they will be disqualified. (Remember, fluff does include component manufacturer information.)

2. The artwork, names, and stats for the designs are fixed. There are no limitations beyond that.

4. All entries must be e-mailed in plain text format to Perrin42@Hotmail.Com. Entries must be submitted by December 11th, 2002. No entries will be accepted after this date.

5. Entries will be submitted anonymously to five judges who will each rate the designs according to their own criteria. The winner will be the person who gets the highest overall rating.

The winner will be announced on December 25th, 2002.
