The Dagger Light Scout was designed by Akula Corporate Enginerring as a fast, durable scouting vehicle that would be capable of exploiting weak enemy formations. To this end, the Dagger was armed with with effective short range energy weapons to give it just enough punch to be a threat to vehicles and light mechs alike. Capabilities: The Dagger is a very fast hover scout that works best in swampy or open terrain. Its excessive speed makes heavy forrest dangerous, as the Dagger is not manueverable enough to avoid colliding with vegetation. The Dagger carries 4 tons of A.C.E. Type 1 Ligh Armor, which is adequate to fullful its mission profile. The Dagger is armed with a pair of Defiance B3M Medium Lasers and a Defiance P5M Medium Pulse Laser. The Dagger also carries a Diplan Beagle Beagle Active Probe to help sniff out hidden enemy units and to improve its own targeting abilities. The Dagger was designed to supplement and eventually replace the Savannah Masters currently in service with the Lyran Alliance. It has an almost identical mission profile. With its heavier armor and firepower, as well as more advanced sensors, the Dagger should do well in its role as the new Savannah Master. Deployment: The Lyran Alliance is currently taking deliveries of Daggers, but it is unknown exactly how many have been ordered or delivered to this point. Daggers are deployed much in the same manner as Savannah Masters, using group tactics to take down enemy units. Daggers are usually deployed in lances, and sent ahead to snoop out enemy positions or to harrass enemy units before the arrival of mech forces. |
