The PM-T1 Tracked Prime Mover was designed as a medium weight armored cargo track. It has light armament that is good for point defence, but must rely on other units for escort. While certainly not the most glamorous vehicle in an army's inventory, without vehicles such as these, a modern army is worthless, unable to move its men and supplies. Capabilities: The PM-T1 is all about moving cargo. This 45 ton vehicle can do that quickly and effeciently. A massive GM 225 Internal Combustion Engine gives the PM-T1 is motive power. On an open road, this monster power plant allows the PM-T1 to carry 10 tons of cargo at a speed in excess of 80 kilometers per hour. The PM-T1 is also quite capable of moving towed artillery pieces from one place to another. The PM-T1 carries 5 tons of Durallex Medium armor that allows it to withstand several direct hits. This is a bonus as it allows the PM-T1 a chance to escape should it be ambushed en route to forward destinations. This is a copious amount of armor for a cargo vehicle, and gives the PM-T1 a thicker armor skin than some combat vehicles. The PM-T1 is lightly armed, mostly as last ditch defence against light vehicles and infantry. Three LFN Linblad rotary cannons are provided for this task. The LFN Linblad is a massive 25 mm rapid fire weapon that has the ability to penetrate light armor. These weapons are mounted with 2 firing into the front arc, and a third atop the armored cab in a turret with a full 360 degree rotation. Variants: There are numerous variants on the base chassis of the PM-T1. These range from a sturdy crane for construction/salvage operations, or an armored cargo area for ammunition and troop transport, and even an ambulance converstion for medevac operations. These vehicles are easily modified, and can be used for a wide range of support tasks. Deployment: Vehicles of this type are in service with every House Army and mercenary unit in the Inner sphere. Exact numbers can not truly be known at this time. However, it is known that this particular type of cargo vehicle is used mostly in the Taurian Concordat and Magistracy of Canopus. |
