One of the largest vehicles ever built, the Hercules was never intended for combat operations. It was designed primarily for cargo hauling and salvage operations in combat zones and is capable of hauling an impressive 65 tons of cargo inside of its hold. Going beyond that capacity is possible, but this can affect its handling characterisitics quite severely. Standing nearly as tall as a 'Mech, this vehicle does not lend itself to stealth or speed, something all commanders should be aware of.
Since it was designed to function in combat zones, the Hercules was given minimal defensive capabilities. These capabilities come in the form of a Medium Laser mounted fore and aft and 5 tons of armor. Although this does give it minor combat effectiveness, this vehicle was not intended for direct combat and should never enter a combat zone unescorted. |
