With full production capability restored to Clan Wolf Prime, (WIE), it was decided to design a new flagship assault mech that would premier in the new Gamma Galaxy. Staying true to Wolf design theory we wanted a fast assault mech, so we started with the tried and true Battlemaster frame, and this is how the Battlehammer got its name. However we wanted to bring a sense of our identity and history to the mech so while the lower torso is based on the Battlemaster, the upper torso is reminisant of the older 80 ton Gargolye Omnimech that is still widely used in Clan Wolf. Capabilities Designed as a true assault mech that can either out shoot or out maneuver any combatant on the field. This mech utilizes some of the most advanced weapons and equipment know in the Clans or the IS. The Battlehammer is a master at ramming its weapons down the throat of any opponent, with its superior speed. Configurations Prime balances energy and ammo weapons with dual ERLLs, and ERMLs matched with the long range Gauss and very versitile ATM12 to engage targets at any range. A is a salute to the past and is basically a double Battlemaster, (the forrunner of the Battlehammer.) The B is a highly ammo dependant, good for typical Clan engagements, and missle fire support. The Gamma which is also called the Strike (S) variant has a powerful Medium to Short range fire power with a 120 meter Jump Capability to get in fast. The Echo is an independant action, long range scout variant with a 120 meter jump capability, AP, Angel ECM, and a TC hooked up to an all Pulse Laser weapons load. The H is a new varient maximized for short to medium range combat like Gamma. Mating an UAC20 with lots of ammo and dual heavy large lasers. For long range firepower a LRM20 with Artimus V is used giving accurate missle cover to get inside. Two additional variants that have been ruled as failures, the Kappa is a dedicated missle fire support- which is incompatible with the speed and maneuverability of the 'mech, and the Delta is a failed variant that was replace by the superior Gamma. Battle History A month after the 18 Wolf Guards went active the Ice Hellions in an attempt to embaress the Falcons staged a long range strike at our forces on Morges. The 18th won the bidding to defend Morges from the 2 Hellion clusters. They had planned to use their lighter and faster mechs to out maneuver us while their heavy forces would smash into our disorganized line. At first the stategy was working until Star Col. Kyle Kerensky, watching in the rear, brought his command star of 3 Battlehammers, and 2 Warhawks into the battle. The Battlehammers to the surpise of the Hellions were able to keep up with most of their light mechs, and scatter them across the battlefield. That allowed us to bring our full fire power against the rest of the Hellion force. At the end of the day it became the Hellions worst military loss they have seen in a long time. Losing three dropships, and the better part of 2 clusters. The Hellion saKhan was barely able to retreat with two trinaries of 'mechs. Deployment The first unit to recieve the Battlehammer was the 18 Wolf Battle Guards of Gamma Galaxy under the command of Kyle Kerensky. The 18th is the first operational unit of Gamma. After the Ice Hellion incident on Morges however all front line forces are requesting the design, and it is rummered that non-lethal trials have started between units to rank them as to who gets the Battlehammers first.
