The MQT-9A Mosquito was designed in late 3059 by 
Akula Corporate Engineering.  The Mosquito utilizes the 
same base chasis as the RTR-46B Rioteer, but is a much 
more effective combat machine.  Using advance 
contstruction materials and an extra light engine, the 
Mosquito is quite possibly the fastest mech on the market 
that does not utilize MASC or TSM.

Capabilities:

The Mosquito is a light harrasser.  While it can be used as 
a forward scout, it does not excel in that role.  The 
Mosquito was designed to do one thing, and it does it 
well.

The Mosquito is powered by a Nissan 200 XL fusion 
reator that gives the mech the ability to reach speeds in 
excess of 160 kph.  This means that the Mosquito is 
capable of getting out of trouble as fast as it gets into it.  
This is a distinct advantage, as the Mosquito carries only 
3.5 tons of A.C.E. Type 1A Light Ferro Fibrous armor.

The Mosquito is armed with a center torso mounted 
Blazefire Sweetshot ER Large Laser and a head mounted 
Blazefire Longshot ER Medium Laser.  While the 
armament sounds light, it is more than ample to fullfill the 
Mosquito's combat role.  Using its high speed, the 
Mosquito will move in for a shot with the ER Large Laser, 
then quickly dart back out of range before the enemy can 
return fire.

Deployment:

The Mosquito is for sale on the open market.  So far 
interested parties have been the Taruian Concordat, the 
Capellan Confederation, and Outworlds Alliance.  Akula 
Corporate Engineering will not release there sales records, 
but it is believed that as many as 50 of the units have 
already been purchased and delivered.
