As the Federated Commonwealth entered the cease fire at the end of the war, a second war broke out among loyalist forces. Wanting to continue the fight no matter what the cost about 30% of the loyalist forces chose to escape and join up with Clan Wolf now the home of Kathrine Stiener.

Fights on at least 12 worlds broke out as these loyalists made good their escapes, there have been reports of devestating fights even among loyalist units themselves. However, upon arrival many of the refugee mechwarriors found that it was not going to be easy to get refitted, or even accepted in clan society. Khan Vladimer Ward never was one for giving anything away, nor did he really care to have these barbarians entering his space.

Only 40% of the refugee warriros were able to become warriors through the trial od postion. Khan Ward did not want to give these questionably loyal warriors clan mechs and begane a program of reissueing captured Innershpere mechs and equipment. However, as most captured mechs was refitted and already in service with numerous secondline outfits it was decided to build a cheap mech to help with the rebuilding efforts.


Not wanting to give any valuable technology to dubious loyalist pilots the Khan sat down and decided upon constructing a mech that lacked any of the sophisticated Clan Omni technology, or electronics It was decided to rebuild one the caputured factories to produce a cheap mech capable of fighting IS forces.

A medium weight tonnage was chosen as being the most versatile, but easy enough to   put down should the need arise by heavier mechs. Standard engine was installed to allow for some survivabilty, despite its average speed for a medium mech the jump jets did help the new mech move around.

Weaponry was decided upon by the value the Khan placed on these new warriors. Enough to help and make a difference but not so much as to create a potential problem should they have to put these freebirths in their place. Energy weapons was chosen in its configuration, allowing the Wolves save on resources to maintian and support the new force Khan Ward was planning.

The main weapon is the Exteneded Range PPC located in the right arm, backed by a cutting edge weapon in three heavy medium lasers. The reason for giving the loyalist force the heavy laser was due to the reports of possible illness among mechwarrirors using the new weapon. But as Khan Ward noted, " These are only Innersphere freebirths so what if a few become ill, it is of no concern to us quiaff?" after which he named the mech Philistine for the ancient barbaric culture that wrought havok upon early civilized Terran cultures.


Because the Philistine is so new there are no varients currenlty fielded by Clan Wolf. However, their maybe multiple unofficial varients as the loyalist pilots get their hands on the Philistine and begin tinkering with them.


It is estimated the Clan Wolf has gained roughly two regiments of pilots from the refugees. Not only does this give the clan a tranfusion in rebuilding efforts, but these warriros are battle tested and hardened.

Currently Comstar does not know what happened to the first run of the Philistines, agents noted as soon as they were built they was taken aboard dropships and sent of planet. It is suspected that the Philistine will become the back bone of loyalist forces that will be working under Clan Wolf control.   If the assesment of the Philistine is correct IS forces should be getting intimatly familure with the new mech shortly.
