When William Penuin first started his company, Penuin
Tech, he wanted to build a new BattleMech from scratch
in less than 5 months to make a name for his new
company. When his design team recieved the memo
containing specifications for the new design, they thought
the company had changed it's name. The header was
Penguin Tech. This typo changed the direction of the
team to make a 'Mech resembling the company's name.
Thus, the Penguin was born.
One thing to note is that the Corean Enterprises Light
Gauss Rifles are stolen. Penuin hired mercenaries to raid
Free Worlds League planets to acquire the weapons. The
design is a success with these.
Capabilites:
The standard chassis and standard engine enable the
'Mech to keep fighting even if three quarters of the internal
structure is destroyed. Though designed for medium to
short range fighting, the light Gauss Rifles allow for the
'Mech to maul incoming enemies, often before they can
get a shot off.
Deployment:
Though only a few were made, they were quickly put to
use. Shortly after walking off the factory lot, they were
loaded into a Dropship to help in the defence of Coventry.
They were adopted into units that were extensively
mauled by the Jade Falcon attack.
