The Cruncher is a new design by the Federated Suns.
It is an effort to be able to combat mechs at serveal
different ranges.
The Cruncher's main weapon is the Autocannon20.
This massive weapon does alot of damage, and can
cripple some mechs.The 2 large lasers are for striking
hard and fast, and knocking an opponent down
hard.These lasers have alot of power, giving the mechs
some punch when its Autocannon runs out of ammo. The
LRM 5 is meant to be for fire support and for wearing
down opposing mechs so that when the Cruncher closes
on it, Its lasers and Autocannon can easily finish it off.
The Cruncher is a good all around mech, but has some
defects. It has slow speed, but the 3 jump jets lets it jump
and get into an enemys backside, wheres its weapons
can do the most damage.It sometimes has problems with
overheating. Early variants didnt have case. We took off
1 heat sink so that we could add case for both the LRM
and the Autocannon. This has put many pilot's fears
aside. The mechs also runs out of ammo in the middle of
battle sometimes. This is why it has 2 Large Lasers,
letting it have some power left when its ammo is gone...,
The Federated Suns shall start deploying this unit in
limited numbers so as to test them out. If they do good,
then they shall begin mass production...
